Guns Festivals and Ayurveda.
In ayurveda, an out-of-control active brain in as imbalanced Rajas mind, which normally serves us in building, working, analyzing, creating, but out-of-balance we might fall deep into an analytical abyss and turn inward. The overactive Rajas mind turned inward on itself, like mirror on mirror, a bad trip, drives one mad, like a shooter in the depths of the abyss of their own mind.

Festival Tour Summer ’19 Pt.7
“They can feel the vibrations of the music and the spirits of the humans walking about them,” and they nod. I am tempted to explain this further, but one just has to see a forest at night during a festival. The lights and the shadows of the large pines & cedars, the occasional aspen glows in the ambient light from the festival beneath the canopy. The sound bouncing through the forest.

Festival Tour Summer ‘19 Pt.6
“The West is the Best,” for festivals. California especially, for a similar reason that it’s world-class land for cultivating weed, for the same cause of a regular wildfire season. It’s warm and dry here for half the year. Rain and heavy moisture will cause buds to go moldy and wreck a crop, end wildfire season, and turn a festival into a cold, damp swamp.

Good food is really about the spices, salt. A balanced level of sweet, salt, and spice. Texture also plays a big role. On a deeper level, how it digests and sits in the belly is important. Consciously so of the healthy Californians here. Dal is sattvic with the 5-spice blend.

Festival Tour Summer ’19 Pt.4
I’ve missed NorCal. The vibes, the people, the lifestyle, the mountain-river-explorer life. It’s good times and I can’t wait for more.

Festival Tour Summer ’19 pt.3
There’s so many friends, lovers, ex-lovers and acquaintances here. Combine that with partying, great music, and the feels come out. I’ve heard this musician say that Burning Man is hard on the couples. I think that all festivals test relationships in some way, in their own way.

Festival Tour Summer ’19 pt.2
I think that I’ve got a minor strain in my left trapezius from trying out some twisting acro-yoga yesterday with Angelica. Shelby rubbed it some and E. Long brought a proper buffer to the fest. Funny that that began as people mickey-mousing car buffers into massage tools, now they’re manufactured for that. Yeah, rest is key. Super key.

Festival Tour Summer ’19 pt.1
It’s been a pleasure to be a part of the festival for so many years. This is my 15th year attending and 14th vending. It’s such a sweet vibe. Not many more like this one in California. You’d have to go to Colorado or further East to get to a festival with a similar line-up.

Yuba River Vignette
Muir said that these mountains were once a smooth, even granite ledge, like a titanic speed bump running 500 miles long, south to north. Then, the ice age happened. And when it was ending over thousands of years, water rushing west towards the Central Valley and east to the Mojave Desert carved the mountains. The Yuba River was left to be a relative trickle of melting winter snow cap.

Festival Tour Spring ’19 pt.5
…The more that I dip my toes into mainstream, big budget festivals, the more I see how special the camp-outs are.

Festival Tour Spring ’19 pt. 4
The humanity, the relationships are more work than the work. It’s not a bad thing, just a tiring thing.
-
Festival Tour Spring ’19 pt. 3
I often tell people that “one of my favorite things about a festival is driving away.” That means that I love the impermanence of a festival.

LIB ’19 Vignette
After Spiro left, I took a moment to look out the front of our booth. While I rested my elbows on the tiki bar, I observed the golden hour. The early arrivals were here, their tired bodies with lively spirits lounging in small groups on the lawn under the shade of large willow trees. Not too far off, the Lightning Stage continued growing. The build crew tending to its construction all day and all night.

Festival Tour Spring ’19 Pt.2
I will be the slow-moving spirit that is fluid and like a large body of water or a whale, I will shift my energy in confluence with the flow.

Festival Tour Spring ’19 Pt.1
And the way that the festival was set up, with its location up against the mountains like in a moraine, it was perfectly positioned to receive the deluge.

My Life was Charmed by a Music Festival…
Bringing a partner to a festival can be wonderful or disastrous, so I’ll share a nugget of wisdom here. Break-ups happen at festivals because, similar to road trips, they’re a glimpse into how compatible you two are. If you want to put your relationship to the test, then go on a long road trip to a festival far, far away.
